Diane Spencer:
I graduated from Wright State University in 1998 (at the age of 35) with a degree in Education and a concentration in Physics. Prior to receiving my degree in Physics I taught Choral music at Carroll High School and at Chaminade-Julianne High School from 1996-1998. I then taught Life and Physical Sciences at St. Charles for the 1998-1999 school year to only return to music at The Lutheran School of the Miami Valley for the 1999-2000 school year. All this prior to joining the West Carrollton team in the fall of 2000.
I am very much into music and theater. I currently direct the Kettering Community Adult Chorus and have personally sung with The Miami Valley Symphony Choral and the Dayton Philharmonic Chorus. I have been seen in theater productions at Dayton Playhouse, Playhouse South, Theater Under The Stars and have sung Opera with the Sorg Opera Company. I also play piano and clarinet. All this I do in my free time when I am not busy with my four children. My oldest is starting his first year of college while my youngest is beginning first grade.
My future plans primarily center around obtaining my Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering. As well as making the Pirate Success Acadamy a success, not only for the teaching teams but for the students as well.

Extracurricular : I consider myself to be a teacher first and a coach second. Coaching for me is a way to participate and become a real part of the school environment, and most importantly the lives of young people. I have a real passion for working with young people and I enjoy teaching. Coaching for me is an extension of the classroom. I make it a point to emphasize the most important part, which is the education of young people. I have coached football and basketball every year that I have been in teaching since 1977.I enjoy it very much. My current position is Head Girls Basketball Coach at WCHS.
Hobbies: I enjoy fishing, water-skiing, and just hanging around the lake. Since I grew up in Minnesota, I feel an attachment to water.
